About
Catherine Athenson is a Chicago-based actor, singer, dancer, and choreographer. She has been dancing since childhood, training extensively in ballet, modern, jazz, and tap. Through dance classes she discovered theatre, becoming more involved in middle school and high school through performing, directing, and choreography. She continued to pursue performance in college and is a proud Washington University in St. Louis alum, receiving a BA in Drama and English Literature and minoring in Modern Dance. At WashU, she served as the president of the student group All Student Theatre, and was awarded the Ian D.W. Cramer Prize for Dance by department faculty. After graduating in 2014, she pursued her love of teaching and completed her Master's of Science in Education from Northwestern University in 2016.
Catherine has since been active in the Chicagoland area, working with theaters such as Williams Street Repertory, Citadel Theatre, and Women's Theatre Alliance, and with national brands such as Kohl's, Groupon, and McDonalds. She is also a company member of the dance sketch group Comedy Dance Chicago.
